The Midwife Led Delivery service is a dynamic service provided by a small team of experienced, friendly and committed midwives offering a holistic style of care in a relaxed environment. This service is aimed at supporting women with uncomplicated pregnancies who wish to take a 'natural' approach to their pregnancies and labour. Midwife Led services offer women a package designed around their own expectations and concerns providing a full range of midwifery services to support mothers-to-be and new families through this exciting period of their lives. The team can access support and services from leading Consultants, Obstetricians, Sonographers, Complementary Therapists and Physiotherapists.
Core Midwife Packages
The Core Midwife Package is available to women who have had a previous uncomplicated pregnancy and are expecting their second or subsequent baby. Bookings are taken from the 30th week of pregnancy. The package is based on a planned normal delivery with the midwife on duty at the time and includes antenatal appointments with the Midwifery Booking Clinic. The delivery and postnatal care is provided by staff based on the maternity ward. It does not provide the same continuity of care as the MLDS package which includes routine antenatal care from 12 weeks through to labour. Further information can be obtained from the midwife team on 020 7390 6318.
Bookings can not be taken for this service until 30 weeks gestation.
Midwifery Support Clinic
The Midwifery Support Clinic is available for consultations during the antenatal period and for new mothers up to 28 days post delivery. The clinic offers one-to-one midwifery advice and support for all areas of concern including lifestyle changes, breast feeding and baby’s health checks. Appointments can be booked by contacting the midwife team on 020 7390 6318 and are charged per consultation. Consultant Obstetricians can refer women to this midwife led clinic for routine medical tests including blood screening, swabs and scans.
